Global Fluid Processing Pump Demand to reach $69 Billion in 2014

According to the forecast of the industrial market research company Friedonia Group, by 2014, the global demand for fluid processing pumps will increase by 6.5% to $69 billion. In many developing countries, the actual growth of the pump market (inflation-adjusted growth) will be slower than in 2004-2009.

The company said in its recent research, “World Water Pump,” that from 2009 to 2014, 3/5 of the fluid processing pump demand came from the Asia Pacific region. Demand from many Asian countries such as China, India, and Malaysia will be very large. China's pump demand during this period will account for 43% of global demand. China and the United States will become the second largest market after the Asia/Middle East and Eastern Europe markets.

Although the growth of markets in developed regions, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Western Europe, and Australia, will not be as strong as in developing countries, their markets are still healthy and will maintain historical levels. The gradual recovery of fixed investment costs, major energy consumption and engineering construction will promote pump sales in developed countries.

From 2009 to 2014, processing and manufacturing will become the fastest growing pump market. In addition, more stringent environmental regulations will also promote people's demand for more effective, higher performance liquid processing pumps, such as sealed centrifugal pumps. The public market is also expected to have greater growth, because in many developing countries, investment in the construction of water and energy transportation networks is rapidly returning to growth.
