Caprolactam Industry Scale Green Development

The total investment of 497 million yuan in Sinopec Baling Petrochemical 200,000 tons / year caprolactam plant potential renovation project started construction last week, is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of next year. This project adopts the second-generation caprolactam green environmental protection technology with Sinopec’s proprietary intellectual property rights, and will expand the existing 140,000 tons/year caprolactam plant to an annual output of 200,000 tons, becoming the largest similar device in China.
200,000 tons of caprolactam renovation and expansion project with annual capacity of 80,000 tons/year cyclohexanone unit, 70,000 tons/year cyclohexanone oxime unit, 100,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide unit, and fill in the whole process . After the project is completed and put into operation, the monthly production of caprolactam in Baling Petrochemical is expected to exceed 20,000 tons, and the production cost will be further reduced.
According to Zhu Jianmin, general manager of Baling Petrochemicals, in addition to the 200,000-ton potential tapping and transformation project, Baling Petrochemical will establish a joint venture with Zhejiang Hengyi Group in the year to build a 200,000-ton caprolactam plant in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang Province. Lingshi Petrochemical will also build a new 200,000-ton caprolactam plant in due course. By then, the annual production capacity of caprolactam in Baling Petrochemical will reach more than 600,000 tons, occupying half of the domestic caprolactam market and becoming the largest caprolactam producer in the world with the largest and most technologically innovative capacity.
As the largest domestic supplier of caprolactam, Baling Petrochemical actively develops new caprolactam production technologies and has developed a series of new caprolactam production technologies with proprietary intellectual property rights on the production process route with benzene as the main raw material. In October 2008, the 140,000-ton/year caprolactam complete set of new technology development projects that were listed as one of Sinopec's "ten-dragon" research projects passed the technical appraisal of Sinopec. The project has applied for 23 Chinese invention patents and has been authorized 20 pieces. The overall technology has reached the international advanced level. The sub-project of the complete set of technology - the magnetic stable bed caprolactam hydrotreating engineering technology won the 2005 national unique technical invention first prize. At present, the complete set of process technology has begun to implement external transfer.
In recent years, Baling Petrochemical has adopted a new technology to implement a 140,000 tonne/year caprolactam expansion technology transformation project, which will increase the caprolactam plant capacity to 140,000 tons/year. After the completion of the transformation, the excellent product rate of new caprolactam products reaches 100%. The main quality index of volatile alkalis is the best in history, surpassing the quality standards of similar international products, and the products have been successfully applied in the high-speed spinning industry. In order to convert the technological advantages of the new technology of caprolactam into industrial advantages, Baling Petrochemical's 200,000 tons/year caprolactam plant has been tapped and reformed by Sinopec as an integration of refinery and chemical industry in Yueyang area Baling Petrochemical's “Five-advanced-seven-building-one supporting” special chemical construction One of the projects.
