“Because of the extraordinary complexity of the case and the number of companies that must be properly studied, including more than 80 independent applicable ratios, it cannot be initially determined within the current deadline,†the agency said in the notice.
The United States Steel Workers' Federation (USW) jointly filed a counter-replacement and anti-dumping investigation against Chinese-made tires on June 3, the US Department of Commerce and the US International Trade Commission (ITC), under the Trade Acts 701 and 731.
ITC ruled on August 15 that there are reasonable grounds to show that the tires made in China have caused damage to the tire industry in the United States.
