Zhao Chenxi, spokesperson of the National Development and Reform Commission, revealed at the press conference that after investigation, from 2012 to 2013, Shanghai Hantai Tire Co., Ltd. reached a monopoly agreement with relevant dealers in the process of selling truck tires and passenger tires. The minimum resale price of tires was fined 2,175,200 yuan.

Tire World Network was informed that according to the report, the National Development and Reform Commission has ordered the Shanghai Municipal Price Bureau to impose penalties on Hankook Tire.

Zhao Chenxi said that Hantai Tire's behavior violated Article 14 of the Anti-Monopoly Law, which excluded and restricted market price competition, disrupted the normal market competition order, and damaged the legitimate rights and interests of other operators and consumers.

According to the provisions of the first paragraph of Article 46 of the Anti-Monopoly Law, the Shanghai Municipal Price Bureau ordered Shanghai Hantai Company to immediately stop the illegal activities and impose a fine of 1% of the relevant market sales for the previous year, totaling RMB 2,175,200.

Zhao Chenxi said that anti-monopoly law enforcement is a normal job to strengthen post-event supervision of market behavior. The automobile industry has a long industrial chain and regulates the competition order of vehicles, accessories and after-sales markets. In the next step, the National Development and Reform Commission will continue to strictly implement anti-monopoly supervision duties, strengthen publicity and guidance, promote the refinement, standardization and unification of anti-monopoly law enforcement, and maintain fair competition in the automobile market.
