One-way manned mission to Mars becomes closer to reality

Yesterday, the private-space project headquartered in the Netherlands, "Mars One," announced that the company hopes to establish the necessary technology to complete the first private Mars mission. Lockheed Martin and Surrey Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. were awarded a contract to study and develop Mars Lander and Data Link satellites for the 2018 Mars mission. If the mission is successful, Mars hopes to establish a human colony on Mars from 2025 onwards.
At a press conference for Mars held in Washington, DC on Monday, I sat next to two Mars worshipers. They were Lailajuk, a doctor in the local emergency room; Aaron Hamm, a hotel owner who was willing to come from Milwaukee that morning. There are nearly more than 200,000 applications for one-way Mars missions, and they are two of them. Zhu Ke and Hamm excitedly announced: "This is the first clear signal that colonial Mars is going to happen."
The schedule of the task has been postponed for two years. The satellite should initially be launched in 2016, and humanity plans to colonize it in 2023. Now, the goal of Mars One is to set 2025 as the date of colonization.

Now, these contracts are the most real part of the project. In the concept picture of the artist's picture above, there is a thin-film solar panel, the first lander and various facilities of the Mars colony, but no actual solar panels. Getting enough drinking water is also a challenge. Although scientists recently discovered that the Martian soil contains more water than previously thought. Mars will carry out various activities on Mars: Research projects included in the Lockheed Lander, including a water extraction project. Another challenge: to prevent colonists from going crazy.
