On November 1st, some imported CNC machine tools no longer enjoy the same preferential tariffs and value-added tax as before. .

Previously, foreign-funded enterprises' projects that imported CNC machine tools and pressure forming machines within the total investment volume were all exempted from import duties. Currently, newly approved foreign-funded projects will be subject to tariffs if they are imported into the CNC machine tools and pressure forming machines listed in the Catalogue of Non-Exempted Domestic-funded Enterprises. It is understood that this move is intended to support the development of domestic manufacturing industries. The equipment listed in the "Domestic Capital Non-Exemption Catalogue" are all domestically available technologies. In other words, in the future, foreign-funded enterprises can only enjoy the relevant benefits by importing CNC machine tools and pressure forming machines that cannot meet the requirements of the existing domestic technologies.

It is reported that in 2007, the city's foreign-invested enterprises imported 10.086 million US dollars in tax-free imports of self-use machine tools and pressure-forming machines, and reduced or exempted a tariff of 4,134,400 yuan. The policy adjustment involves a large number of imported equipment and a wide range of products, which may have some impact on some foreign-funded enterprises. However, the new regulations set a certain buffer period. The Shaoxing Customs reminded the enterprise that if there is a similar situation in the encouraged foreign investment projects that were approved before May 1, the project unit may still apply for the approval procedures for tax reduction and exemption from the customs until November 1 this year.
