Not long ago, the JAMUNA tire factory project in Bangladesh held a factory establishment and groundbreaking ceremony. The project was undertaken by Beijing Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute and is the first tire factory project in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi Minister of Commerce Tofayel Ahmed and Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh Li Guangjun attended the groundbreaking ceremony and delivered a speech. It was learned that the Jiamana Tire Factory project was designed with a production capacity of 350,000 all-steel radial truck tires, 500,000 semi-steel radial tires, 400,000 bias tires and 750,000 inner tire belts. It is expected to be completed and put into production in May 2018. Jamim Islam, general manager of Jamuna Group, announced on the scene that the Jamuna Tire Factory was established and the project was officially started. Shamim Islam stated that the project has a very important milestone and is an important investment in the Group's diversified industrial layout. In recent years, China National Chemical Corporation has actively participated in various constructions in Bangladesh, especially chemical projects, in response to the Chinese government's “One Belt, One Road†initiative. Chen Hong, general manager of the China Academy of Chemical Sciences, said that the construction of the tire factory project by the North Oak Institute has very important strategic significance. China National Chemical Corporation will support the construction of the tire plant project by the North Rubber Institute in terms of project implementation conditions, and hopes that the two sides will cooperate extensively in other fields. It is understood that the China Academy of Chemical Sciences and the Beijing Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute are all affiliated to the China National Chemical Corporation.
