Selection of high gradient magnetic separator
The high gradient magnetic separator can generate a large magnetic field force when the background field strength is not too high, and the recovery of materials smaller than 20 μm is better. High-gradient magnetic separators are available in periodic and continuous types. The periodic type is mainly used for the purification of certain minerals or materials to remove magnetic impurities in the materials. The continuous high gradient magnetic separator is mainly used for the classification of fine-grained weak magnetic minerals.
There are two main types of domestic continuous high gradient magnetic separators, one is LC-1700 (equivalent to the Swedish Sala type high gradient magnetic separator), which is a flat ring high gradient magnetic separator, which makes the magnetic field produce a higher gradient. It is beneficial to the sorting of fine materials. The other is the SLON vertical pulsation high gradient magnetic separator. The sorting zone is located in the slurry tank. The slurry tank is equipped with a pulsating mechanism and has the function of recoil concentrate, which is beneficial to the recovery of fine materials. The discharge zone is located away from the upper part of the magnetic pole to prevent or reduce the blockage of magnetic materials. Some beneficiation plant has been using this device sorting weak magnetic minerals, and achieved good results. The technical performance of SLON type high gradient magnetic separator is shown in Table 1.
