According to the No. 92 document of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China in 2011, the implementation of the National IV emission standard began on July 1, 2013.


The implementation of State IV emissions will soon begin, and FAW Liberation will actively prepare for the war. In order to achieve the smooth upgrading of products and ensure their sustainable development potential, as of now, the liberation has held six National IV project promotion meeting.


Although there are many doubts about whether the National IV emission standards can be implemented as scheduled in the industry, heavy truck companies have not stopped the deployment of the National IV products. Because they do not want to miss the huge market opportunities brought about by the replacement of China IV products.


Two doubts eliminated


The industry once again reported that the National IV emission standards have to be delayed because the industry has two concerns about its implementation on time. One is whether the country will have all the national IV emissions and the other will be the supply of urea. In response, the director of the motor vehicle emission monitoring center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Tang Dagang, said in an interview with the media: “Urea does not have to worry about, but how much is there. As for the oil issue, the national IV emission standard for diesel is not yet available. The standard of 50ppm is Euro IV. Our country may be the same as Europe and it may not be the same as Europe."

It is understood that currently PetroChina and Sinopec have promised to start supplying national III oil with sulfur content below 350ppm to the whole country starting from July 2013. They are committed to the continuous improvement of oil products and are expected to supply national IV oil with sulfur content below 50ppm in 2015.


Tang Dagang further explained: “Now, the heavy diesel that follows the SCR technology line can tolerate diesel with 350 ppm sulfur content. That is, if it is July 1, next year, even if it is not guaranteed nationwide, There is 50 PPM of diesel fuel, but this type of SCR technology will not affect the emissions of diesel vehicles from State IV. Of course, those who take other technical routes and cannot tolerate 350 ppm of National IV emissions will only be able to provide 50 PPM for those engines. If you are in a diesel region, such as Guangdong, if this is the case at that time, then there is no national IV vehicle equipped with SCR's technical route engine. I am afraid there is no way to sell it."


As of the end of September, the total number of heavy-engine country IV announcements has reached 1,706, SCR routes accounted for more than two-thirds, medium- and heavy-duty diesel engine fuel system high-pressure common rail and electronic monomer pump line coexist. The entire series of Weichai, Shangchai, and Dongfeng use only high-pressure common-rail single routes, and FAW and Yuchai are both the high-pressure common-rail and single-pump dual-concurrent production. SCR is currently the mainstream route of China IV-cylinder engine, accounting for more than 2/3 of all announcements.


Speed ​​up the pace of progress


In fact, preparing for the State IV, all the car companies are in action. As early as last year's Shanghai Auto Show, FAW Jiefang, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, China National Heavy Duty Truck, Jianghuai Heavy Truck, SAIC Iveco Hongyan all exhibited the National IV model.


From Copenhagen’s commitment to the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” target, all government departments have issued orders for resolutely implementing State IV emission standards and resolutely eliminating the phenomenon of decking or fake technology that appears in the country. As the eldest son of the national car, the FAW liberation must actively respond to and cooperate with the government's energy saving and emission reduction policies.


Zhao Guoqing, Minister of Liberation Technology Development, stated that the National IV Annual Development Project is a top priority for the Ministry of Technology Development and is extremely important in all aspects of the Liberation Company's work. It is related to the follow-up production and sales of FAW's medium and heavy trucks. The Ministry of Technology Development will make every effort to ensure the smooth implementation of the State IV product development as planned. It is understood that due to the impact of the development of the 2013 cabs that were liberated, a large number of vehicle model design improvements and time trials for the process-testing of the National IV project were shifted backwards and concentrated. These months are crucial for the liberation.


At present, the 95 types of vehicles specifically involved in the Liberal China IV project are undergoing program adjustments to resolve the issues concerning the distribution of vehicle batch production time, progress of announcements, test installations, and problems encountered at this stage. Its two independent cost improvement projects, the urea injection system and the FCRI, are also accelerating development tests.
