According to Wu Yang, the manager of Wuyi's aromatics project department, the total investment of the aromatics complex is 3.7 billion yuan. It is Wuyi Petrochemical's capital construction investment so far with the largest amount of capital construction, the largest scale, and the most involved professional construction projects.
Liu Yang stated that because there are no similar devices in the entire western region including Xinjiang, the aromatics project will drive Xinjiang's resource advantage [2175.19 2.89%] to transform into an economic advantage, which will play an important role in supporting the development of local economy.

According to the target market positioning of the major aromatics project, half of the products will be digested locally in Xinjiang after the project is put into production, and the other half will be shipped to the mainland market.
However, due to the fact that Xinjiang is far away from the interior and has a higher transportation cost, Liu Yang hopes that the large-scale development in Xinjiang and the west will drive the development of aromatics downstream industries and increase the demand for aromatic products in the west, so that the market of Wuhu Petrochemical can be more concentrated in the western region.
In addition, the reporter also learned that the establishment of the major aromatics project in Wuhu Petrochemical was actually the result of the differential layout of PetroChina's subordinate petroleum and petrochemical enterprises in Xinjiang.
Wu Xingang, general manager of Wuhua Petrochemical, said, “The commissioning of the project means that CNPC’s differentiated layout in Xinjiang is basically formed and is complementary to the raw materials formed by the Dushanzi million ethylene project.â€
In his opinion, the commissioning of the major aromatics project will also allow PetroChina to take shape at the three major bases of Urumqi Petrochemical. The three major bases refer to "large oil refineries, large fertilizers, and large aromatic hydrocarbons, respectively." Prior to this, Ukrainian Petrochemical had a capacity of only 55,000 tons in the aromatics industry and failed to form a complete integration of upstream and downstream.

At present, Wuhua Petrochemical has the production capacity of processing 6 million tons of crude oil, producing 1.1 million tons of urea annually, producing 150,000 tons of chemical fiber and other petrochemical products annually, and possessing more than 60 types of petrochemical products in 10 categories. According to the newspaper's understanding, at the same time when large aromatics were put into operation, the expansion project of Wuhua Petrochemical's oil refining and chemical fertilizers has also started. Among them, the refinery expansion project is scheduled to be completed in 2011, when its refining capacity will reach 10 million tons / year.
