New technology is expected to achieve rapid detection of tea pesticide residues

[ Instrument Network Instrument Development ] Tea, as a favorite drink of Chinese people, has always been valued. In the modern era, the market for tea has been continuously opened, and its development prospects are evident. Under such market trends, not only many people have invested in tea-related industries, but in order to obtain better market benefits, some modern methods have also been used in tea planting.
Pesticides are indispensable in China's agriculture, as is tea cultivation. However, the use of pesticides will inevitably face the problem of pesticide residues. The audience of tea is very wide, and its quality and safety are highly concerned. As a sensitive safety indicator and the most stringent risk control project in the tea, the pesticide residue is naturally the focus of attention.
In today's tea pesticide residue detection, the mainstream methods are "gas chromatography-mass spectrometry" and "liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry". These methods have the advantages of high accuracy and stability of the test results. The traditional laboratory test methods also have the disadvantages of complicated detection methods, long time-consuming and high cost, which cannot meet the requirements of on-site detection or in-situ detection. This also makes the tea industry lack of risk control measures from the source.
In order to meet the needs of rapid detection of tea pesticide residues, in recent years, Professor Ni Dejiang from the Department of Tea Science of China Agricultural University has worked closely with China Metrology University to combine nanomaterials and spectroscopy technology to detect pesticide residues in tea and special nanomaterials. The preparation and fingerprint spectroscopy algorithms were studied in depth, and a new method for rapid and effective detection of organochlorine pesticide residues in tea was proposed. The method is expected to realize rapid on-site quantitative detection of some pesticide residues in tea gardens in the field, help the production management department to improve the food safety control level of tea production and reduce the food safety risks of consumers. Relevant research results were published in the important international journal Journal of Hazardous Materials.
It is known that this technology bridges the organochlorine pesticide molecules with benzene rings through the organic small molecules containing benzene rings, and closes the distance between the free molecules and Raman spectroscopy nanomaterials to enhance the surface plasmon resonance effect. A fingerprint spectrum of distinguishable pesticide residues. The research team conducted further research through tea garden comparison drug sampling and found that the technical solution can effectively detect target pesticide residues. The team compared the new technology with the "Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer" and concluded that the detection method has a good application prospect.
After that, the research team plans to carry out interdisciplinary cooperation, further integrate new technologies, realize the finalization of new technologies, develop related light equipment, and provide food safety services for the tea industry and even the horticultural industry.
