Electric vehicle development strategy

Wan Gang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Minister of Science and Technology, said at the forum that after ten years of development, China's electric vehicles have entered the stage of industrialization from the R&D stage. At the same time, the technical route of electric vehicles has also been basically determined, namely: hybrid vehicles will become the main direction of the transformation and upgrading of traditional automotive energy-saving technologies. Pure electric vehicles, including plug-in vehicles, will become the mainstream of the recent development strategy. Fuel cell vehicles will become The commanding heights of the future.

In the field of vehicle technology for electric vehicles, China has established a proprietary hybrid, pure electric, fuel cell, and power system technology platform with independent intellectual property rights, applicable to China's public transportation and private vehicle markets, and mastered the integrated vehicle technology. In terms of electric vehicle technology, it is close to the international advanced level and some indicators have certain advantages.

Wan Gang also disclosed at the forum that China’s draft electric vehicle development plan has been formulated and the country will support the development of electric vehicles from seven aspects, including increasing charging facilities, infrastructure technological innovation and accelerating infrastructure construction, and accelerating technical standards. Research, improve the standard system; continue to deepen international technology exchanges and cooperation, and promote the internationalization of electric vehicles.

When subsidies are directly sold by enterprises, they are paid to consumers in order to substantially increase the market share of energy-saving vehicles in automobile consumption. Resolutely curbing excess vehicle capacity

Chen Bin, Director of the Industry Coordination Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, spoke at the forum focusing on the risk of overcapacity in the automotive industry. “At present, domestic automobile production capacity can basically meet the market demand, but by the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period, there will be a serious excess of vehicle production capacity.” At the same time, he also analyzed the reasons: “The local government has become the promoter of the rapid expansion of automobile production capacity.” Chen Bin Said that the country will carry out macro-control on the vehicle's production capacity, and does not allow the local government's fiscal, taxation, land, and other preferential policies for the company to increase production capacity.
