Kevlar: green light project needs to break technical barriers

At present, the world aramid industry is ushering in new opportunities for development. Aramid fiber is also listed as a green light project by China Chemical Fiber Industry Association. However, due to its important strategic significance, developed countries have always imposed a technical blockade and a limited embargo on them, but they have started late in the country and technical problems have not yet been fundamentally solved, which seriously restricts the development of the industry. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to concentrate its strength on breaking through the monopoly of foreign technology and conquering the technical problems of aramid fiber.
The prospects for growth in demand are promising. Aramid fiber has excellent properties such as ultra-high strength, high modulus and high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and light weight. Its strength is 5 to 6 times that of steel wire, and its modulus is 2 to 3 of steel wire or glass fiber. Times, the toughness is 2 times that of the steel wire, and the quality is only about 1/5 of the steel wire. There are two varieties of aramid fiber with the most practical value: Aramid 1313 is the earliest, most productive, most widely used and most promising organic high temperature resistant fiber. So far, the global annual production capacity has reached 31,000. About tons; Aramid 1414 has a high strength, high modulus characteristics, known as polymer materials in the "variety" reputation, is the representative of the world's high-performance fiber materials. Since 2004, China's demand for aramid fibers has grown rapidly, but most of the domestic market has been occupied by a few foreign companies. With limited supply and high prices, it is difficult to meet domestic demand.
In the future, the use of aramid 1313 fibers in the field of protective clothing in China will increase at a rate of more than 30% per year. The amount of aramid colored fibers used as protective clothing and other interior decoration products will also increase. It is expected that the market demand for domestic aramid 1313 will increase. The amount is 7200 to 9700 tons/year. Among them, the demand for flame-retardant protective clothing is in the range of 2,000 to 3,000 tons/year, that of fire-retardant decorative fabrics is 1,500 to 2,000 tons/year, that of filter materials is 1200 to 1,500 tons/year, and that of insulating paper is 1,000 to 1,200 tons/year, among others. 1500 to 2000 tons/year.
The demand for lightweight car radial tire cords and brake pads is on the rise. It is expected that the annual demand for para-aramid fibers will increase by more than 10%. With the development of China's energy industry, the use of para-aramid fiber-reinforced rubber and thermoplastic resins as oil and liquefied natural gas high-pressure transmission lines will develop. The demand for para-aramid fibers in the fields of fiber optic cable, ballistic protection products, aerospace and defense, rubber and composite materials in the communications industry will also continue to increase.
Industrialization encounters technical difficulties China's aramid fiber has a certain gap between its technical level, product grade, and production capacity. One of the reasons for the difficulty in the domestic production of aramid fibers in China is that the technical bottleneck of production is difficult to break through; second, most of the raw materials need to be imported, especially domestic solvents.
Aramid 1313 fiber was first developed by DuPont, USA. Since the industrialization of meta-aramid in the 1960s, DuPont has been in a complete monopoly over a relatively long period of time. The current production capacity is about 25,000 tons, and the output accounts for the world's total output. Nearly 80% of the products are in the leading position. Teijin's meta-aramid fiber was built in Iwok, Yamaguchi Prefecture, with a capacity of 2,350 tons, of which staple fiber products are competitive in the world.
At present, there are only two meta-aramid production enterprises, Yantai Spandex and Guangdong Xinhui Caiyan Co., Ltd. Yantai Spandex has developed a number of years of research and development of Newcastle-brand meta-aramids with independent intellectual property rights. By the end of 2006, its design capacity of Aramid 1313 reached 2,500 tons/year, which exceeded that of Teijin. The company's production capacity. Guangdong Caiyan Co., Ltd. is a private enterprise, its aramid production capacity currently reaches 1,000 tons/year, and the product is mainly based on conventional white staple fiber.
Due to technological R&D strength in China, there are no large-scale enterprises producing aramid 1414. Yantai Spandex's aramid 1414 has just entered the pilot stage.
The green light project needs to break through barriers. With the advancement of science and technology and the development of the world economy, aramid fibers will be used in more fields. At present, aramid manufacturers in the United States and Japan are eager to expand production. The world aramid industry is ushering in a new development opportunity.
As a key new material for national support and development, aramid fiber has been included in the catalogue of high-tech products encouraged by the state. In 2006, China Chemical Fiber Industry Association’s chemical fiber investment early warning system listed aramid 1313 as a “green light” project, aramid fiber. 1414 fiber is listed as a "double green light" project.
The task of energy saving and emission reduction in our country is increasingly arduous. It is urgent to require high temperature resistant and chemically resistant meta-aramid materials to filter and purify high-temperature exhaust gas, dust, and sewage. With the rapid development of China's aerospace industry, the application of aramid materials is inevitable. There will be greater breakthroughs; and the demand for special materials with insulation, breathability, flame resistance, temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance in modern defense, fire, chemical, metallurgy, hydropower, mining, and nuclear industries will also create a potential The huge market, thus promoting the rapid development of China's aramid industry.
Therefore, vigorously developing aramid fiber and its upstream and downstream products are in full compliance with the requirements of industrial restructuring and national industrial policies. For domestic research institutes and related manufacturing enterprises, the concentration of advantageous forces as soon as possible to quickly break through foreign technology monopoly, overcome the technical problems of aramid fibers, and advance industrialization, is not only critical to the development of the entire aramid fiber industry, but also to our national defense. The development of the aerospace industry and other fields is equally crucial.

Caustic Calcined Magnesite

Caustic calcined magnesite (CCM) is also known as magnesia, bitter earth powder, Caustic calcined magnesite , and its main component is mainly Magnesium Oxide. The natural magnesite ore is used as the main raw material, and calcined at a temperature of 750-1100 is called "light burn". The product is called caustic calcined magnesite. Since the reduction of magnesite is generally about 50%, it is lightly burned in ore. The MgO content can be almost doubled. In this sense, caustic calcined is a very effective means of MgO enrichment. Magnesium oxide has a chemical formula of MgO and is insoluble in ethanol. The relative density (d254) is 3.58. Melting point 2852 ° C. The boiling point is 3600 °C. Odorless, odorless, non-toxic white amorphous powder, insoluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, soluble in acid or ammonium salt solution, the solubility in water increases with the increase of carbon dioxide content in water.
