Dalian Institute of Chemical Industry published a report on the progress of complex hydrides
[ Instrument Network Instrument Development ] Recently, He Teng, associate researcher of Hydrogen Energy and Advanced Materials Research Department of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Researcher Cao Hujun, researcher Chen Ping and others published a book entitled Complex Hydrides for Energy Storage, Conversion and Utilization. Research progress report.
The complex hydride has a high hydrogen content, a wide variety, and various properties. Since it was discovered as a hydrogen storage material in 1997, composite hydrides have been used in various fields such as energy storage, conversion and utilization. This progress report summarizes the latest research progress of complex hydrides in hydrogen storage, heat storage, ion conduction and catalytic conversion, systematically expounds material design ideas, synthesis methods and performance optimization strategies, and presents current challenges in this research field. And the direction of future development is presented.
Chen Ping team is committed to the research of complex hydrides in hydrogen storage and conversion, and has established metal amino compounds (Nature, 2002), metal aminoborane (Nature Mater., 2008) and metal organic compounds (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2019) and other hydrogen storage systems; a new catalyst system for transition metal-alkali (soil) metal hydrides was constructed to enable low-temperature catalytic synthesis of ammonia (Nature Chem., 2017); The new process of synthesizing ammonia for the chemical chain of nitrogen carriers provides ideas for the development of ammonia based on renewable energy (Nature Energy, 2018).
The work was funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Natural Science Foundation, Dalian Institute of Chemicals, etc., and was recently published in the journal Advanced Materials.
