The superconducting filter verification test device jointly developed by the Physics Institute and the Aerospace Science and Technology Group 510 (hereinafter referred to as the 510 Institute) is one of the main payloads for the practice of the Ninth Satellite. At 11:25 on October 14, 2012, Practice No. 9 A/B satellites were launched with the "Long March No. 2 C" launch vehicle and entered a predetermined orbit. As of now, the data show that the superconducting filter meets the requirements of the pre-determined test index and successfully achieved the first-phase goal.
High-temperature superconducting materials have very low microwave losses. Filters developed using this feature have characteristics such as small insertion loss, high tape edge steepness, and deep out-of-band suppression, which can improve the sensitivity and anti-jamming capability of satellite microwave receiving systems. With the support of relevant departments of the state and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Center for Superconducting Technology of the Institute of Physics has been working on space applications of high-temperature superconducting microwave devices since 2001. The center has been following the requirements of the aerospace engineering program in a step-by-step manner and has undergone superconductivity successively. In the front-end space application ground test verification and satellite test verification phase, the scientific application system test of the manned spaceflight space laboratory is currently being fully prepared.
China's first high-temperature superconductor device space test
The high-temperature superconducting filter developed by the Beijing National Laboratory for Condensed Matter Physics (CAS) of the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has been successfully implemented in China's first civilian new technology test satellite, the No. 9A satellite launch test. This is the first time China has completed the space test of superconducting devices, which shows that China's superconducting technology has become one of the most advanced in the world. It is of great significance to the application of superconducting devices in China, especially in space applications.
