According to reports, this large commercial demonstration project was invested by Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group, Shijiazhuang Jinshan Petrochemical Co., Ltd., and Shanxi Tianhe Coal Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. provided a patented technology process design software package, and Sinopec Engineering Construction Company carried out engineering design. Sinochem 12 Construction Group Co., Ltd. construction and installation. The core diameter of the gasifier is 2.4 meters and the design pressure is 0.6 MPa. The single furnace handles 324 tons of Jincheng anthracite on a daily basis, and the dry gas output is 26,000 Nm3/h, and it is matched with 60,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year. After one-and-a-half years of design and construction, the project succeeded in successfully commissioning the air separation unit on June 25, 2008, and produced qualified oxygen and nitrogen products. On July 21, the coal gasification unit ignited the oven, marking the project. The construction and installation of the project was basically completed; hot-tuning started on August 12 and trial operation was completed on September 5.

On September 10, the Shanxi Coal Pulverized Coal Gasification Engineering Research Center formally disclosed to the public: China's first set of pressurized ash fusion fluidized bed coal gasification to produce synthetic ammonia raw gas industrial demonstration equipment, on September 5 in Shijiazhuang Gold Petrochemical Fertilizer Co., Ltd. The 76-hour feeding test was successfully completed, and the core gasification unit operated smoothly. Qualified gas was integrated into the ammonia production system. This marks China's independent research and development of liquefied ash fluidized bed coal gasification technology into a large-scale commercial demonstration stage, will provide technical support for the transformation of many small and medium-sized chemical fertilizer companies to save energy, and become a reliable technical support for the sustainable development of China's coal chemical industry.
