On the afternoon of September 23rd, the third China International Auto Parts Development Summit Forum was held in Beijing. Leaders from Bosch, Denso, Delphi, Magna, ASIMCO, the Canadian Parts Manufacturers Association, Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association, Roland Berger International Consulting, and the National Information Center and other senior leaders. About 400 people including executives, R&D personnel, procurement personnel, suppliers, and media representatives of automotive and parts companies from various countries and regions in the world discuss the current issue of the “Time for Financial Crisis, Opportunities for the Chinese Marketâ€. In the economic situation, auto and parts companies are in this booming auto market in China. The following is the keynote speech of Chen Yudong, Executive Vice President of Bosch China Investment Co., Ltd. Recently, we have always heard some encouraging numbers in China. These figures are based on the fact that in the past nine months, even in the context of the global financial crisis, the Chinese auto industry has remained one of the most successful and successful. We are grateful to the Chinese government for its rapid response to the financial crisis in the past year, a series of effective economic stimulus plans for stabilizing the market, and industrial planning for the development of Chinese automotive products. As President Li said, Bosch has just gone through 100 years in China. Today, we are even more determined in the determination of long-term development in China. The topic we discuss today is the opportunity of the Chinese market during the financial crisis. We believe that it is this financial crisis that has brought new technologies with hope to us in front of us. Through a brand-new business model, the desire for zero-emission cars and electric vehicles. It seems that the situation is already within reach. At Bosch, we hope to help everyone realize this desire through our innovation. As always, Bosch constantly gives new meaning to driving. Therefore, in today’s forum, I hope to have leadership with the industry and the industry. Experts share Bosch's experience and perspectives on future innovations. Developing Alternative Power Drive Systems in Parallel with Increased Engine Efficiency First of all, Bosch is contributing its technical power in various ways to help realize the electrification of future automotive powertrains. Second, in the coming decades, we will further develop the internal combustion engine technology. We believe that, whether diesel or gasoline engines, there are still reductions. The potential for fuel consumption and increased performance, of course, is far more than our concern. Regardless of the type of drive that the car takes in the future, the safety of driving must be ensured. This is another major Bosch innovation field. Just like environmental protection, protecting drivers' safety is also part of our company’s slogan “Technology Makes Life More Beautifulâ€. These eight words summarize Bosch's overall research and development projects, provide customized solutions according to different special needs, and think globally. The implementation of localization accurately reflects our business approach and sound R&D work. Bosch has a total of 113 production bases and 53 R&D centers in the world. In early 2009, the automotive division had nearly 170,000 employees worldwide, including more than 9,000 employees in China, and our automotive R&D activities also spread across the globe. With a total of 25,000 R&D personnel, we have nearly 1,400 employees in China. Regardless of where we are, our experts maintain close contact and communication with customers. This has become one of our working principles. On the other hand, under the difficult circumstances of the financial crisis, our R&D for the future remains the same. Bosch’s R&D in automotive technology is investing about 3 billion euros each year, which ensures the two-pronged development we mentioned before. In an orderly manner, on the one hand, an alternative power drive system was developed, and on the other hand, efforts were made to improve the efficiency of the internal combustion engine. Electric driving, increasing energy density, and reducing costs are one of the keys. Electric cars will not appear on our streets in large numbers overnight, but they will one day become a reality. The growing urbanization process is one of the reasons for the development of electrification. Although the mileage of electric vehicles is limited, it is very suitable for applications in these mega cities. We believe that electric vehicles are most likely to be successful in densely populated areas such as China, as well as in some large European and American cities. To achieve higher sales, we must significantly improve the performance of electric vehicles. First of all, this means that higher battery energy density requirements, even if the energy consumption is optimized, the electric car travels 200 kilometers, requires a capacity of about 35 kilowatt hours, in the current technical conditions, the same capacity lithium battery weighs 250 kilograms, we must By significantly reducing the weight and price of the battery, in the next few years, the price of the battery will remain at between 8,000 and 12,000 euros, which is almost the price of a small car. If automakers still produce batteries at a small capacity, it is difficult to reduce their costs. Therefore, large-scale R&D (input) must be shared through large-scale production. First of all, this model will reduce the unit's R&D costs, comparing two manufacturers with sales of 500,000 and 50,000 battery manufacturers respectively. Compared to small-scale manufacturers, large-scale manufacturers can reduce the R&D cost of the battery unit by about 500 euros. , that is 5,000 yuan. More importantly, we can obtain economies of scale from large-scale production, and we can further reduce costs through acquired production experience. According to our experience in mass production, if the output is increased by 10 times, the corresponding production cost will be reduced by three quarters. This principle will also be applied to the production of lithium batteries in the future. For hybrid power, we believe that in the development of hybrid and electric vehicles, it is more necessary to coordinate the working relationship of partners, that is, the relationship between car manufacturers and system suppliers. Automobile manufacturers should focus on the overall design and integration of vehicles brought by the new power system, and system suppliers need to develop new parts and components needed for the powertrain, namely vehicle lithium batteries, drive motors, etc. , And mass production at low cost, Bosch develops the electric vehicle level from the following three aspects: First, we continue to accumulate experience in hybrid drive. We believe that hybrid system technology is a transitional technology in the development of electric vehicles. It is expected that in 2010, our hybrid technology will achieve mass production. Second, we have an independent business unit dedicated to the research and development of powertrain electrification. There are currently 400 engineers in this sector, and this number will increase to more than 500 by the end of this year. Finally, through cooperation with Samsung, we are developing the core of the future electric drive, namely lithium battery. As a drive technology provider, Bosch is the only company that has a joint venture specializing in lithium batteries. Our goal is to launch new products in 2011. The battery technology is more efficient for cars and diesel engines. Despite the emergence of various technologies, the internal combustion engine will remain the dominant technology within the next 20 years. Therefore, we must fully tap the potential of the internal combustion engine as soon as possible to help cars meet the increasingly stringent emission regulations of various countries, and respond to climate changes. Scarcity also prompts us to strive to improve vehicle fuel efficiency. We believe that it is feasible to reduce the CO2 emissions of small-scale vehicles to 1,000 kW per engine in a 1,000-kilowatt engine. To achieve this goal, we are engaged in the following tasks: New combustion process and optimization of high-precision injection technology, turbocharging, miniaturization of the engine and development of exhaust gas recirculation, reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions from exhaust gas treatment, adoption of effective auxiliary systems, effective generators and special motor speeds And so on, at the same time we are also actively promoting the system to start and stop the idle and the user to meet the intelligent management system. At the auto show next year, we hope to introduce more idle start-stop systems in China to reduce fuel consumption as quickly as possible. In addition, we firmly believe that the fuel consumption of gasoline engines and diesel engines will be further reduced by 25-30%, which will enable a medium-sized diesel engine to achieve a fuel consumption of 2.9L per 100 km and CO2 emissions below 99 g per kilometer, thanks to the reduction in fuel consumption. Additional costs will be recovered within three years. Obviously, in the future, drivers of clean diesel vehicles will be able to get more cost savings. Clean diesel is a mature and effective emission reduction technology. We expect that the proportion of diesel vehicles in global vehicle production will rise slightly from 2016, from The current 25% increase to 28%, and the growth is mainly concentrated in emerging Asian countries and the United States. By 2016, the new gasoline-injected direct injection system will be tripled today, reaching 16% of the global market. A more efficient internal combustion engine is one of the inevitable trends in the future Gasoline direct injection technology is increasingly prevalent, especially in Western Europe, North America, Japan, and South Korea. One of the reasons for this is the combination of gasoline direct injection and turbocharging, which results in smaller engines and better performance. One thing we can surely say is that a more efficient internal combustion engine is also an inevitable trend in the future. Safety, in addition, automotive safety is an indispensable part of Bosch innovations. Today's digitalization has greatly improved road safety. The electronic stability program, or ESP, has gradually become the core element. Fourteen years ago, Bosch introduced this system for the first time. It can prevent 80% of the world's traffic accidents due to slipping, nowadays, one third of the world's new cars are equipped with ESP systems. Ladies and gentlemen, Bosch's R&D in China is equally important to new drive technologies, clean and energy-saving engine technologies, and automotive safety technologies. At present, we have established four automotive technology R&D centers in Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, and Chongqing. Last winter, we and the winter market in Jakarta, Inner Mongolia, also put into operation. In fact, the Jacques Proving Ground is Bosch’s largest outdoor testing ground in Asia. By the end of this year, the hybrid R&D team will have 35 technical experts who will actively seek technical cooperation opportunities to provide more reliable technical support to Chinese customers. At the same time, we will further develop the research and development of clean diesel vehicles in Wuxi and develop diesel supply technologies for light trucks and passenger vehicles that meet Bosch's five national standards. We have also made new progress in passenger safety. In the fourth quarter, our factory in Suzhou will celebrate the single-year ABS production exceeding one million units. Ladies and gentlemen, with the support of the Chinese government, our business has made encouraging growth in China. There is no doubt that research and development is always our top priority. At this year’s China International Auto Parts Expo, we By demonstrating Bosch's continuously expanding local innovation products, we will demonstrate our constant commitment to Chinese customers, bring innovative, high-quality products and services to Chinese consumers, and meet the domestic demand for clean, energy-efficient and safe driving. It reflects the wish of our science and technology to achieve the beauty of life, and also reflects our commitment to constantly support and contribute to China's industry.
