About Measurement Accuracy of Metal Tube Float Flowmeter

The horizontal angle is better than 2° when installed horizontally, in order to facilitate maintenance and replace the flow. 2. The inlet of the metal tube float flowmeter shall have a straight pipe section with a length of more than 5 times the pipe diameter. The exit should have a 250mm straight section.

3. If the medium contains ferromagnetic material, install a magnetic filter; if the medium contains solid impurities, consider installing a filter between the valve and the straight pipe section.

4. When used for gas measurement, ensure that the pipeline pressure is not less than 5 times the pressure loss of the flow meter to make the float work stably.

5. When thermal insulation protection measures are required, if the temperature of the measured medium is higher than 220°C or the fluid temperature is too low, crystallization will occur easily. Jacket type should be used for cooling or insulation.

6. Pipe flanges, fasteners, gaskets and flow meter flanges are the same for the normal installation and operation of the meter.

7. Metal tube floater flowmeter faults usually occur when the device is just started. Because the pipe is not clean, the floater is stuck by solid particles. At this time, the pointer of the indicator stops at a position. At this time, the valves on both sides of the flowmeter should be closed first, then the upper flange should be removed, the float should be removed for cleaning, and then reinstalled. NOTICE Tighten the upper flange nuts for balanced tightening and gaskets.

8. The flange of the process line must be coaxial with the flowmeter flange and parallel to each other, in order to avoid deformation of the flowmeter caused by the pipe. Proper tube support to avoid pipe vibration and reduce the axial load of the flowmeter. The control valve in the measurement system should be installed downstream of the flowmeter.

9. At least 10cm around the installation, because the instrument is transmitting signals through magnetic coupling, in order to ensure the performance of the instrument, ferromagnetic substances are not allowed to exist. If the gas is directly discharged to the atmosphere at the outlet of the meter, the gas is measured at a specific pressure. The pressure drop will occur at the float and cause data distortion. If this is the working condition, a valve should be installed at the outlet of the instrument.

10. Be careful. Due to uneven pressure, when installing PTFE-lined instruments. PTFE will deform, so the flange nuts are evenly tightened symmetrically.

11. When installing, try to avoid direct sunlight on the display, with a liquid crystal display meter. In order to avoid reducing the life of the LCD.
