The development of plastic buckets, especially large and medium-sized plastic buckets, began with the industrialized production of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic raw materials in the 1950s. HDPE plastics have high resistance to stress cracking, impact strength, good cold and heat resistance, high rigidity toughness and barrier properties, excellent chemical compatibility and melt strength, using this production of plastic barrels can meet The requirements of the United Nations International Maritime Transport for the transport of dangerous goods of Class II and below allow large-capacity plastic buckets to become an indispensable part of international liquid packaging.

In 1927, Germany's Mauser and BASF Chemical Co., Ltd. jointly developed 200 liters of closed plastic buckets with double L rings and single L rings. They are professionally engaged in the packaging of liquid chemicals and have been tested to meet the needs of safe packing of dangerous goods. It lays a solid foundation for the wide application of plastic barrels in the hazardous chemicals industry. In 1984, China’s Beijing Plastics Factory first introduced a large-scale hollow blow molding equipment from Germany’s Bekom Company, which opened the door for the production and use of plastic barrels in China. Over a period of more than ten years, it has introduced foreign companies’ blow molding equipment. Nearly ten sets. However, at that time, the production line was expensive, and the raw materials used for production depended mainly on imports. The price of plastic barrels was relatively high relative to the prices of iron barrels. The market has not really been opened. The development of domestic plastic barrels was after the SCJ230 blow molding equipment designed by Qinchuan Machine Tool Factory in August 1993, which opened a new page.

The domestic large-scale blow molding machine was first mainly used for the production of 200L closed L-ring plastic barrels. Through continuous technological innovation, it has higher reliability and stability, and higher production efficiency, accompanied by the 1980s and 1990s. With the development of domestic high-density polyethylene raw materials and the reduction of production costs, plastic barrel manufacturers have emerged like bamboo shoots and are distributed throughout the country.

Due to the differences in chemical properties and density, with regard to the requirements for the strength of plastic buckets and the overall cost of packaging, plastic buckets with different weights are available on the market for customers to choose reasonably. Plastic buckets can be forked, hoisted, rolled, stacked, and used as packaging for petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, agrochemical, food, and other industries. They can realize road, rail, ship, and air transportation. When using containers, get the best safe transportation. In the first use of plastic barrel packaging, it should be noted that it is better to do the immersion test of the plastic barrel slicing and sealing ring, can be used only when it is confirmed that the requirements have been met, can be directly used when carrying non-dangerous goods and food materials. . Many chemical raw materials are volatile or easily decomposed, easily causing different pressure inside and outside the plastic barrel. At this time, a plastic cover with exhaust function must be selected to avoid the risk of overpressure during transportation while ensuring Sealing properties for liquids. The filling temperature of the product is preferably not more than 60°C, mainly to prevent the deformation of the plastic barrel and the influence of the plastic on the product. At the same time, after the hot filling, the product should be cooled down to room temperature and tightened. The lids are stacked and stored. Plastic bucket barrel mouth is small, the viscosity of the product should not be too large, I recommend the maximum filling viscosity of not more than 3,000, to avoid excessive viscosity, resulting in slow drainage, affecting the use. When the plastic bucket is in use, collision or friction of sharp objects should be avoided. The filling operation area and the loading and unloading warehouse area should not have any sharp corners as much as possible, and there should be no nails or other items on the ground.

Four plastic barrel performance indicators:

In order to ensure the safe use of plastic barrels, the national standard has made safety regulations for 200L plastic barrels and packaging containers, mainly including the following:

1 Drop test, fill 200L water at -18°C-40°C, drop 1.8 meters, do not break, no leakage is acceptable. This test is mainly for the purpose of affecting the environment and safety due to accidental drop during transportation or loading and unloading.

2 Load stacking, ambient temperature ≥ 40 °C, stacking 3 meters, load density 1.2, 28 days, no significant deformation and damage. In summer, the weather is hot, and in the high-temperature state, the warehouse can't be deformed due to high temperature softening of the plastic bucket or deformation during transportation, and the corresponding standards are made.

3 airtight test; 30Kpa pressure for 5 minutes, no rupture, no leakage.

4 Hydraulic test; 250Kpa water pressure, keep for 30 minutes, no rupture, no leakage.

For the above four test parameters, there is one failure, then the entire batch of plastic barrels are all unqualified, and other appearances such as air bubbles, oil spots, etc., refer to the plastic barrel GB.
